The Gulch

Perhaps one of the fastest growing areas of Nashville would be the Gulch. This hottest of hot neighborhoods is located a few blocks off Broadway, covering the blocks between 12th Avenue and 8th Avenue. Home to one of Music City’s most famous music venues, the Station Inn, the Gulch once featured several more legendary spots. Most have disappeared through the years, but the remaining bluegrass venue still draws some incredible artists and huge crowds.

Most of the Gulch is now composed of various high-rise condominium complexes, such as Icon in the Gulch, Terrazzo, Velocity, and Pine Street Flats. Even now, more residences are being built each day. The draw to these luxury buildings is clear: elegance, sophistication, convenience, and plenty of fun. Most of the communities feature swimming pools, movie theaters, fitness centers, rooftop gathering spots, and balcony views of downtown Nashville. These condos come in various styles, too. If you want something sleek and modern or a rugged loft, you’ll find either right here.

The restaurants and nightlife are what really make this area shine, though. There’s a huge list of choices for all different budgets, from Music City Flats and Burger Republic to Kayne Prime and Watermark. You can also choose from dozens of other options in between, like Cantina Laredo, Bar Louie, Arnold’s Country Kitchen, The Pub, and Virago. If you need a little something to drink before or after dinner, there’s always Whiskey Kitchen, Sambuca, Kocktails & Kouture, and The Pour House.

The Gulch is also home to some of Nashville’s most popular craft breweries. Jackalope and Tennessee Brew Works are just a few short blocks from each other. As you might imagine, finding somewhere to live in this area can be tough, so when you see a condo hit the market, you should probably jump while you have the chance.
