Sylvan Park
Sylvan Park has long been one of the most popular historic neighborhoods in the Nashville area. Its proximity to Vanderbilt makes the neighborhood a popular one for students and professors, but many other Nashville residents enjoy the convenience, charm, history, and walkability of Sylvan Park.
Located between Charlotte Avenue on one side and West End Avenue on the other, Sylvan Park spans several blocks of homes from the 1920s and 1930s. These cottages and Tudor homes have been remodeled and refurbished for the most part, but there are quite a few still clinging to history, if you’re looking for a challenge. Young professionals and families love the large, private yards and safe streets.
The charm and history of Sylvan Park extend further than the homes, too. Quaint shopping and dining spots abound, including the hotspots on Murphy Road. Local Taco, Star Bagel, Caffé Nonna, Park Café, and Sylvan Park Restaurant are all located right here, and they make up a large part of Nashville’s Favorite Restaurants lists. For those seeking some great craft and local beer, Neighbors is right in the middle of the action. McCabe’s Pub is another spot where beer lovers find plenty to choose from.
