Forest Hills / Oak Hill
The Oak Hill community in Nashville is a city unto itself, with its own history and government resources. Residents here get the benefits of a small town environment with the convenience of a metro area, which makes the community a very popular place to live. You’ll find Oak Hill to the south of southeast of Green Hills, just north of Brentwood, with Granny White Pike and Franklin Road acting as unofficial borders.
Homes in this area are often large and gracious, with rolling hills as scenery out the windows. The neighborhoods may be compact in some areas with smaller cottages, and these are just as sought after as the private mansions along Tyne Boulevard. Wherever you choose to live in Oak Hill, you can be certain your home will be charming and inviting. These homes are some of the priciest in Nashville, but they’re certainly worth the investment.
While the area is mostly residential, you may find a few popular restaurants and coffee shops within a short distance from home. Granny White Pike eventually gives way to 12th Avenue South, which is home to some of Nashville’s favorite eateries and coffee shops. On the other side, there’s 8th Avenue, with ML Rose Pub, the Smiling Elephant, and 8th and Roast all closer to downtown. If you just want a quiet afternoon among nature, the Radnor Lake State Natural area borders the south end of Oak Hill. You’ll never be far from the places you love. Of course, you’ll also be within a very short drive of the shops at Green Hills, whether you need the department stores of the mall or the boutiques at Hill Center. You can also head south for just a few minutes to reach the many stores and restaurants Brentwood offers. As you can see, Oak Hill really is an ideal place to live, especially if you want plenty of peace without sacrificing the fun.
