➺ Living In Inglewood

It’s funny how much can change in just a few years. In roughly a decade, East Nashville has gone from a mecca for artists on a budget, to a deal on a first home, to a sought after community. The northern part of East Nashville, with its own zip code, is charming Inglewood. Quieter than East Nashville but with easy access to the same growing list of hot spots, Inglewood is known for its historic cottage style homes, recently peppered with new builds as well, and for several of its own shops and eateries that Nashvillians come from all over the city to enjoy. These are our favorites!



You have not experienced all that Nashville has to offer if you haven’t eaten at Mitchell Deli. You absolutely cannot go wrong with any of their fresh vegetables, local meats, and amazing bread. These are sandwiches you must have in your life. A favorite stop in Inglewood! We also love Village Pub & Beer Garden. They have the most delicious soft pretzels (that you can have made into a sandwich!) plus a patio for this perfect fall weather.



The original Dose Coffee is in West End, but they recently opened a new location in Inglewood! Stop by this quaint coffee shop for breakfast or come by with friends in the afternoon for a little pick-me-up.



Old Made Good has made its mark in the homes of Nashville residents! With refurnished finds and whimsical décor and gifts, this is always a fun shop to browse through. If you live in Inglewood chances are you have a record player at home! Add some new vinyl finds to your collection from Fond Object Records. The Riverside Village Pharmacy has all the soaps, supplements, and sundries you could possibly need!



With a Nature Center, a Greenway, a golf course, urban community gardening, a B-Cycle station and more, Shelby Bottoms Park could keep you busy for days! Go for a walk or run, take the dog, play 18 holes, bike for miles, and so much more. Being close to the park is a major perk of living in Inglewood!


Though the competition for homes in Inglewood has been on the rise, there are numerous homes on the market that may perfectly suit your needs! A brand new 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath house (1,890 square feet) is listed at $369,900. A quintessential Inglewood cottage built in 1938 (updated) has 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths (2,228 square feet) and is listed at $419,900. ➺ How to Choose the Right Neighborhood


How many decisions do you think the average person makes in a day? 50? 100? 1000? Sometimes the decisions are as simple as where to have dinner (link to family style post or new restaurant openings post). Other times the decisions are much more life changing, like “what’s our budget for a new home?” or “where should we live?” As important as it is, choosing a neighborhood to buy your next home in should not be a stressful decision. ➺ Nashville Market Report: September Review


Fall seems to be everyone’s favorite time of year. Cozy bonfires, holiday parties, festive decorations, etc. Plenty of Nashvillians are celebrating the change of season in their new homes!

There were 3,474 home closings reported for the month of September, according to figures provided by the Greater Nashville Association of REALTORS®.

“The monthly, quarterly and year-to-date numbers are actually very similar, despite only two of the three showing an increase,” said GNAR President Denise Creswell. “Year-over-year sales for the month and the quarter are essentially flat, which is to be expected this time of year. Our region’s ability to remain stable given the inventory shortage is a strong indication of the healthy market we have.”

Stats at a glance:

· There were 3,577 sales pending at the end of September, compared with 3,244 pending sales at this time last year.

· The average number of days on the market for a single-family home was 50 days, compared with 56 days for September 2015.

· The median residential price for a single-family home during September was $256,900, and for a condominium, it was $188,495. This compares with last year’s median residential and condominium prices of $236,866 and $171,325, respectively.

· Inventory at the end of September was 11,886, down from 13,141 in September 2015.

➺ Living in The Gulch


If you’ve noticed the influx of cranes above our Nashville skyline then you probably know where The Gulch is. The city’s center of chic urban living, The Gulch has a growing number of luxury condo buildings as well as everything residents could want or need for an upscale walkable lifestyle right in the heart of the city.


Some of our favorite local shops are located in the Gulch. Two Old Hippies is a favorite as well as e. Allen boutique. Loft, Urban Outfitters, and Blush also have homes in The Gulch. Nashville market Turnip Truck has a Gulch location, offering local produce and healthy groceries as well as natural home and beauty products and freshly made smoothies and juices.


The Gulch is home to Nashville favorites Biscuit Love, Burger Republic, Virago, Whiskey Kitchen, and so many more. Seriously. The Gulch is FULL of restaurants. Biscuit Love started as a food truck, which turned into a storefront in 2015, making the Gulch a breakfast lover’s dream. (Or dessert lover – try the bonuts pictured above!) Up – a Rooftop Lounge has the best view in the city along with a menu full of great cocktails and snacks like flatbread. M Street alone has several of our favorites. Virago is a sushi lover’s dream, Moto is a beautiful restaurant space with a unique pasta menu, and Saint Anejo has the best sangria we’ve ever had. All of this is only a taste of what The Gulch’s food scene has to offer!

Coffee gets its own category in The Gulch! Barista Parlor opened up their second location, Barista Parlor Golden Sound, in a repurposed building behind popular condos The Icon. Looking for something a little more low-key? Bond Coffee Company and Zollikoffee are both in The Gulch as well.

We have now established that there are a TON to do right at home in The Gulch, but the Gulch is also centrally located if you want to walk to Downtown Nashville or Midtown, and is a quick drive or Uber ride to other Nashville neighborhoods like Germantown or Wedgewood-Houston.
